Ann C. Terry

Executive Director, Foundations Empowerment, Inc.

Housing is more than shelter. R.H. Hazemann (1973) defines housing as “a life enhancing setting. A place for memories, intimacy, the starting point for neighborliness and for work relationships. A haven, shelter against the harsh realities of life, against the nervous tensions produced by the extremes of life.”

Ann has spent her life’s work passionately engaged in activities that promote quality of life. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, from Hampton University, she enjoyed a long career teaching high school students how to cultivate a better life. The love of lifelong learning and imparting knowledge led her to the University of Georgia where she earned a master’s degree in Housing, Home Management and Consumer Economics. As an educator, workshop presenter, and real estate broker the underlying core of Ann’s message is to empower people with the knowledge and resources to acquire and maintain a home. For many, the dream of home ownership is never realized, or it is delayed, because of poor financial decisions. Chief among those poor decisions is the unwise use of credit.

Ann is the owner and broker of Choice One Realty Group, LLC. She has received the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) designation, Senior’s Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation, New Homes Specialist certification and Housing Counselor certification. She has had the privilege of serving as Director of the Housing and Real Estate Support ministry at her church for over 6 years.

Ann is the founder of Foundations Empowerment, Inc. a 501C3 non-profit organization which focuses on pathways to home ownership. A native of Philadelphia, Ann has called Atlanta home for over thirty years. She is a wife, a mother, and the proud grandmother of six beautiful children.
